Rapist released on parole reaches home, rapes his 11-year-old daughter and niece
A man who was released from Ambikapur jail on parole on October 19th, 2023, committed a heinous crime by raping his own 11-year-old daughter and 12-year-old niece over the next three days. It wasn’t until October 22nd that the two young victims found the courage to report the abuse to the police.
The accused, who had previously been convicted of raping a relative’s child in 2020 and was serving a prison sentence, was arrested on October 26th from Korba district, approximately 150 kilometers away.
The 11-year-old daughter was the first to report the abuse, going to the Baikunthpur police station in Koriya district with her relatives. She revealed that her father had raped her on the night of October 19th, threatening her life if she told anyone.
Two days later, on October 21st, he lured her into the Gada-Budha jungle under the pretense of collecting wood and assaulted her again.
Subsequently, the 12-year-old niece, who was also a victim, arrived at the police station with her mother. She reported that her uncle had dragged her into the forest on October 21st and raped her.
Koriya Superintendent of Police (SP) Suraj Singh Parihar stated that a special team was formed to apprehend the fugitive. The team diligently tracked the accused by questioning his relatives, neighbors, and local residents.
As the accused was not carrying a mobile phone, he relied on borrowing others’ phones occasionally. Leveraging technical insights from the cyber cell and information gathered from the public, the police team conducted raids in the Burani Jharia and Am Tikra areas of Bangho police station in Korba district, leading to his arrest on the night of October 26th.
